For our Director, Brett Heintzman,
music has been a source of joy, and an element of life that seems to be
embedded into much of what he does and who he is.
When it comes to Barbershop, Brett
became involved in 1986 as a charter member of the Jamestown Harmony
Express and developed a deep love for four-part Harmony. Over
time, Brett has directed the Jamestown Harmony Express, the Enchanted
Mountain Chorus in Olean, NY, A Cappella Unlimited, and now the
“Friends of Harmony”.
Brett
has sung in numerous quartets including 1994 International Competitors
“Gold Rush” and 1998 SLD Champions “Pierce Arrow” (featuring
three other members of the “Friends of Harmony”). Currently,
Brett continues to sing in a Southern Gospel Quartet called “Soul
Provider” and his latest barbershop quartet, “Hangtime”.
Music extends into other areas of
his life including his church, Jamestown Free Methodist Church, where
Brett serves as Pastor. At the church, Brett still participates in
the Sunday worship music and has, over the years, directed many church
choir and musical events.
Brett
is a soloist, pianist, conductor, writer and arranger, and the Friends
of Harmony is pleased to have Brett as their current musical director. |
